Whisky Tasting School

Sorry, The Whisky tasting school is sold out!

The Victoria Highland Games Association is pleased to present a Single Malt Whisky Tasting School at our 70th Games. Each of the two sessions will take place right on the Games field so guests can sit down and enjoy an educational experience on the Victoria "Whisky Trail" in the middle of a Scottish Highland Games!

Each 90 minute session will be presented by whisky connoisseurs with a passion for the "Water of Life". The interactive session provides a history of whisky and how it is made, and teaches the differences in the major types of whiskies produced across Scotland. But the most important part is tasting the whiskies themselves - all of the classic single malt whiskies to be sampled will range from 10 to 16 years in age and will cover the Scottish whisky regions of the Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside, Westcoast, Isle of Skye and Islay.

The entry fee is $25 per person, and includes a free ticket into the Games. The two sessions offered are limited to 24 guests per session and one session will be held at 11 am and the other 2 pm. This is truly a high-end whisky tasting so make sure you sign up quickly to ensure you get a spot. Guests must be aged 19 years or older to attend! As 50% of the spots were sold as of April 15, please contact Jim Maxwell at jmaxwell@shaw.ca or call 598-0120 if you would like an entry form (be sure to indicate which session you wish to attend).

Condition of Entry to the Whisky Tasting School is that guests do not drink and drive.
